The City Council of the City of Shoreacres, Texas met in Workshop Session on

Monday, August 20, 2007 at 7:00 p.m.
in the City Council Chambers of City Hall, 601 Shoreacres Blvd.,

Shoreacres, Texas, with the following present constituting a quorum:

                                                 Alderwoman      Dolly Arons              

                                                      Alderman      Richard Adams                   

              City Administrator / City Secretary      David Stall

1.0       CALL TO ORDER / ROLL CALL:

The meeting was called to order by Mayor Jayo Washington at 7:04pm.

2.0       WORKSHOP

2.1       Discussion of the City’s General Fund Budget and Utility Fund Budget for the fiscal year 2007/2008, presentations by city staff and deliberation of other matters related to budget preparation.

City Administrator Stall gave Council an update on the status of the certified tax roll from the Harris County Appraisal District and reviewed the budget calendar.

Chief French made a presentation to Council with budget requests for the Police Department.

Council discussed budget adjustments necessary to address city priorities that included drainage, streets, animal control, emergency medical services, and replacement vehicles.

The Mayor was given input and direction required to file a proposed budget with the City Secretary prior to the next Council meeting.

7.0       ADJOURNMENT

There being no further business, Mayor Washington declared the meeting adjourned at 11:43 p.m.
