Meet the new City
Administrator, David Stall
The City of
Shoreacres now has a full time City Administrator, a newly
created management position for the city. David’s main
responsibility is to manage and oversee all departments of
the city and to work closely with the mayor and council to
implement our city government policies and adhere to the
State of Texas local government guidelines. His direct
Email address is
administrator@cityofshoreacres.us. Show him a big
Shoreacres welcome!
Shoreacres Civic
Association
It’s time to renew
your SCA membership.
For the application via E-mail contact Tracy
Revak @ 281-471-3425. Applications are also available at
City Hall.
The New
Department of Transportation Program
The City of
Shoreacres has created a new police position to enforce
safety compliance by the heavy truck traffic on State
Highway 146. The vehicle to be used is a Ford Expedition,
an addition to the city’s police fleet.
Green-Up Clean-Up
It’s that time again
to trim and grind. The city will be hosting Green-Up
Clean-Up on Saturday, April 2 and April 30, from 8 am to 3
pm. This is your opportunity to discard cut vegetation 6
inches or less in diameter by hauling it to the city’s
grinding site just west of HWY 146 during the designated
hours. Free mulch is available if you mention you read
about it in this dynamic publication.
Annual Easter Egg
Hunt
If you’re just
dyeing to hunt eggs, come on down to Circle Park March 19 at
10 am. Admission is free if you bring a kid, or if you can
prove you never grew up. It’s fun for the whole family!
For information call City Hall at 281-471-2244.
Noise Begets
Noise
Got noise? There’s
a list of mighty important people you can contact about the
Bayport noise that may be slowly causing recent changes in
your personality. (You can contact the mayor at
mayor@cityofshoreacres.us for a list of names and phone
numbers.) Don’t call these guys if noise is coming from
your neighbor, but if it is coming from the Bayport project,
the Port of Houston Authority and the construction
contractors they employ are not going to do anything about
the noise they are creating unless there’s a complaint. The
compliance laws regarding noise are hard to enforce unless
they are well monitored documented and acted upon. They
have their ducks in a row and lawyers by the phone to assure
us they are, or will be, in compliance. But remember…they
will probably have to be forced to be compliant from here
on.
